January 16, 2007 -- The WOJFC would like to welcome the Jamestown Rams as the newest members of the Conference. At this time, the Rams are looking to field a set of complete teams, from Bantam through 6th Grade, in the 2007 season. We would like to extend a welcome to the entire Jamestown community, and the addition of the 4th, 5th and 6th grade teams this year.
April 26, 2007 – On Monday, April 9, 2007, the WOJFC officially welcomed its newest organization into the Conference. The Wilmington Hurricane. The Hurricane are looking to participate this season with a set of complete teams from Bantam through 6th grade. We would like to extend a welcome to the entire Wilmington community to the WOJFC this 2007 season.
July 16, 2007 - The WOJFC would like to announce that the 2007 schedule, as with past season's schedules, is a random draw of teams. The first round of the tournament is also drawn this way, prior to the beginning of the season. All teams paired up for the first round of the tournament are, in essence, 0-0 as no games have been played when the tournament is drawn. This is the fairest way, in the eyes of the WOJFC, to pair tournament games, instead of seeding the various colors and grades within 17 organizations.
July 25, 2007 - The WOJFC has posted the 2007 Documents (Constitution, By-Laws, Playing Rules, Code of Ethics Forms, and Roster Explanation). Additional Documents can be found by clicking the "Documents" link at the top of each page.
August 7, 2007 - The WOJFC has instituted an "EXTREME WEATHER PRACTICE POLICY". This policy is Conference-wide, and is dependent on your location. The policy is as follows:
Heat Index 90 degrees and above - 15 minutes of practice, mandatory full 5 minute water break.
Heat index 95 degrees and above - No helmets or shoulder pads, 15 minutes of practice, mandatory full 5 minute water break.
Heat index 100 degrees and above - Practices shall be cancelled.
Each club rep, in conjunction with their Board, will make the decision based on the weather in their area. These are not guidelines. If these Heat Indexes are in your area, they are to be followed. There may be a cancelled practice in one area, and there may be practice in another area, on the same day, similar to area thunderstorms as the WOJFC works in a 60-70 mile radius.
